Mark Pavlin, PhD, joined Eastman Chemical Company in 2008 and is currently a Senior Technical Associate for the Adhesives and Plasticizers Business. He has over 37 years of research and product development experience. Since joining Eastman, Dr. Pavlin’s work has involved exploration of new opportunities in various markets, including tackifiers, solvents, coalescent agents, plasticizers, anti-oxidants and formulation ingredients for personal care products.

Prior to joining Eastman, Mark worked for Arizona Chemical, the chemical products subsidiary of International Paper Company, and for Union Camp Corporation. He contributed technically to and managed an R&D group working on new process and product developments in pine chemicals technology for applications in jet inks, printing inks, adhesives, fragrances, and personal care additives.

Mark received a BS degree in Chemistry from Lehigh University in 1973 and a PhD degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Illinois in 1977. Mark is inventor or co-inventor on over 40 issued US patents.
