Member Guidelines

The GC3 mission and goals  are to accelerate the development and commercialization of innovative green and sustainable chemistry solutions in response to market, science, and policy drivers. These efforts may focus on specific functions, chemicals or classes identified as priorities for innovation and substitution. The GC3 seeks input from its members, scientists, government authorities, and others to develop its priorities for innovation and commercialization. GC3 Members recognize that the development and commercialization of new, innovative chemistry solutions is a necessarily disruptive market process that can result in replacement of—and/or improvement on—existing chemistry, and Members recognize that the work of the GC3 may therefore disrupt the market for incumbent chemistry solutions.

GC3 members are asked to follow certain guidelines and policies, which include, but are not limited to, the following.

GC3 Member Code of Conduct

GC3 members will:

  • support the GC3 vision and mission;
  • use their membership to help advance the vision and mission of the GC3 and encourage the development and commercialization of innovative green and sustainable chemistry solutions;
  • proactively and positively engage in relevant GC3 initiatives; and
  • accept and support the projects prioritized by the GC3 Management and Board to advance the GC3 mission, including functions, chemicals, and/or classes identified as priority areas for innovation and commercialization.
  • Allow the listing of their organization on the GC3 member web page, unless specifically requested otherwise.
  • Pay membership dues at or above the required minimum amount.

GC3 members will not:

  • use their membership to discourage innovation or member initiatives around specific chemicals and/or classes nor use their membership as an opportunity to defend incumbent chemicals and/or classes; nor
  • use GC3 as a platform to sell specific products or services, while recognizing that this expectation does not compromise the important role that GC3 plays as a forum for building business relationships and partnerships.

At its discretion, the Board of Directors of GC3 may terminate the Membership of any organization whose conduct does not comply with this Code of Conduct.
